Rabbi A. Nathan Abramowitz, FFC Advisory Committee
Rabbi Abramowitz is currently a faculty member in Georgetown University’s Theology Department, and has been the Hymen Goldman Professorial Lecturer in Jewish Studies at Georgetown since 1967. He teaches courses on Judaism, Jewish traditions, and Jewish ethics, and is an expert in those areas. He became Rabbi Emeritus in 1996, after serving as the spiritual leader of the Tifereth Israel Congregation for over 36 years. In addition to other responsibilities, Rabbi Abramowitz is a trustee of the Interfaith Metropolitan Theological Education, serves as the co-chair of the Inter-religious Committee on Race Relations, and is a director of the Jewish Social Service Agency. Rabbi Abramowitz graduated Phi Beta Kappa in economics from Johns Hopkins University and received his Rabbinical Ordination and Doctor of Divinity at the Jewish Theological Seminary.
