"Religious Engagement With the Environment: Micro-Investment for Macro-Influence"

Essay Abstract: As the world is entering an era where the prospect of environmental catastrophe is, perhaps, greater than the prospect of disaster from any other source, it is especially important that care for the environment becomes a priority. Everyday people’s lives are affected by the constant changes of environmental conditions. Through recycling, water conservation, and more efficient technology, people have made great strides in becoming more environmentally responsible. However, these efforts still fall short of what is needed for long term prosperity. While the ecosystem has some abilities to correct or heal itself, the limitations on the damage it can sustain are quickly approaching. It is important that more people begin to recognize the seriousness of the situation this and start taking personal responsibility towards taking care of the environment. By looking at the lessons taught by the Abrahamic Faiths one can learn how to become a responsible steward of the environment.
